This is week 13 of the course of Introduction to the Entrepenurship. This week my Church leader taught about the gratitude. We should reflect and thanks those who have been helpful to us such as father, mother, teacher, friends, and especially God. After that I had to answer questions for my assignment.
Question: How did being a lifelong learner benefit Haykin's career? How could it benefit yours?
My Answer:
Kaykin is a lifelong learner and his lifelong learning benefits so much to his career. He went to study at Harvard Business School. He focused on entrepreneurship and technology. His professors persuaded him to get experience in sales and dealing with customers so that he would become a leader someday, and he took the advice. He learned from his responsibilities as a Multimedia Developer Program manager. He had to do many tasks starting from development until product delivery and to work with many people. He learned to notice extra opportunities. He learned about decision processes of large companies. Aiming to become an entrepreneur means that I have to learn forever about how to deal with new challenges and how to see new opportunities. Most importantly, I must keep learning how to identify and exploit the right opportunities.
Question: What was Haykin's "toughest hurdle" as a business leader?
My Answer:
Becoming a business leader comes with tough hurdles. Even though his income grew exponentially, he began to feel lonely and did not enjoy some of the business elements. His biggest hurdle was the balancing between family and work. He had difficulties in allocating time for the family and work. Another toughest hurdle was that his business did not go in the right direction. The project ended earlier than expected, the fund ran out, and felt like he misled his people.
Question: Why do the risks of entrepreneurship seem worth it (or not worth it) to you?
My Answer:
Becoming an entrepreneur has risks, but it is
worth taking the risks. Creating ideas to satisfy the needs of someone else has risks,
but it should be enjoyable and make life more meaningful. I will have the
chance to think about the opportunities to contribute to others, checking to
see if the opportunities are right for me, connecting to other people, thanking
those who help me along the way. It should be fun to be flexible along the
journey no matter how far I can achieve.
